Country endures 2 billion cubic feet gas shortage, NA told

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kemal Khan Tuesday told National Assembly that the country endures 2 billion cubic feet gas shortage in winter season and measures were underway to overcome the shortage.

Responding to a motion moved by Ms Shazia Mari, Naveed Qamar, Imran Zafar Leghari, Makhdoom Mustafa Mehmood, Ejaz Jakhrani and Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, he admitted that there was acute shortage of natural gas in twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad especially for tail enders.

Earlier Minister for Science and Technology asked the movers to convert their adjournment motion into motion under 259 and let debate the gas shortage issue in the Lower House of the Parliament.
