LONDON: European stock markets closed mostly lower on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index ending the day flat at 6,730.73 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 dipped 0.08 percent to 9,428 points and the CAC 40 in Paris shed 0.47 percent to 4,227.54 points.
