According to a performance report of Lower Dir Police, a total of 52 murder cases were registered during the said period against which 90 accused were arrested while a total of 103 were charged.
In the district a total of 9591 cases of different nature were registered in area's police stations against which 8320 accused including 350 proclaimed offenders were arrested.
During the same period police recovered 406 Kalashnikovs, 783 rifles, 3177 pistols and 265685 cartridges of different bores. Besides the Lower Dir police also made a recovery of 261.16 kg hashish, 70 bottles of liquor, 2.51kg opium and 70grmas heroin.
The major arrests and recovery was made by the Talash police who arrested proclaimed offenders and known arms smugglers Zahir and Feroz Shah of Barang with 11 Kalashnikovs. While Timergarah police arrested Jama Sed of Malakand with 4 Kalashnikovs, 4 shot guns, 11 pistols, 150 rounds and 31 chargers.
