Snowfall expected in Malakand, GB: MET office

ISLAMABAD: The Metreological Department Tuesday predict mainly cold and dry weather in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

Partly cloudy weather with chances of light rain and snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places of Malakand division and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning is: Islamabad 6 degree centigrade, Lahore 7, Karachi 18, Peshawar 8, Quetta 3, Muree 4, Muzaffarabad 10 and Gilgit 1 degree centigrade.

The 162-kilometre Thokar Niaz Beg-Kot Momin section of the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway has been closed for all types of vehicles due to zero visibility caused by dense fog.

A motorway police spokesman told Radio Pakistan that the road is expected to be reopened after improvement of the visibility.

He said all other roads are open to traffic despite fog. However, the drivers must drive carefully using fog lights.
