Indian banks' loans up 14.2pc y/y in two weeks to Nov 29

MUMBAI: Indian banks' loans rose 14.2 percent from a year earlier in the two weeks to Nov. 29, while deposits grew 16.1 percent, the Reserve Bank of India's weekly statistical supplement showed on Friday.

Outstanding loans rose 151.1 billion rupees ($2.45 billion) to 56.65 trillion rupees in the two weeks to Nov. 29.

Non-food credit rose 127.1 billion rupees to 55.61 trillion rupees, while food credit rose 24.1 billion rupees to 1.04 trillion rupees.

Bank deposits rose 881.80 billion rupees to 74.78 trillion rupees in the two weeks to Nov. 29.
