Govt to compensate affectees of Mangla upraising project: NA told

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmed Tuesday said that the government would soon compensate the affectees of Mangla upraising project.

Replying to a Point of Order raised by MNA Raja Javed Ikhlas, the minister said that he would talk to the concerned department in this regard.

Reply to another Point of Order regarding the installation of electricity meters in two sectors of the Capital Development Authority raised by MNA Malik Abrar, Sheikh Aftab asked the member to constitute a committee so that the issue is resolved as soon as possible.

MNA Molana Gohar Shah speaking on a point of order said that government should take steps to reduce loadshedding and low gas pressure in Charsadda.

PTI MNA Munaza Hassan said that the government and opposition should avoid blame game and diligently work for the revival of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

She said that there is no need to sell out assets of PIA, adding that concrete steps should be taken to save the national asset.

MNA Tahira Asif said the Parliament should constitute a committee to look into the affairs of PIA and present a report in the House.

PML-N MNA Dr Darshan urged the government to present Hindu Marriage Bill in the House so that the community get relief under the law.
