Session of Lower House of Parliament starts

ISLAMABAD: The session of Lower House of the Parliament (National Assembly) started on Tuesday at 11:00 am with the recitation of some verses of the Holy Quran.

Speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq chairs the session. Tuesday is a Private Member's Day and MNAs are set to introduce their Private Bills, Proposed Amendments in existing laws, Calling Attentions Notices, Resolutions and Motions for the perusal and consequent discussion/approval of the House.

The Bills to be introduced included the Representation of the People (Amendment) Bill, 2013, The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2013, The Ratification of International Treaties Bill, 2013, The Control of Narcotics Substances ( Amendment) Bill, 2013), The Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2013, The National Database and Registration Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2013, The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (Amendment) Bill, 2013, The Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill, 2013, Amendment to the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly, 2007, three Motions under Rule 259, request to discuss a matter of public importance under rule 87 and matters which are not points of orders.
