French foreign minister to attend Friday's Iran talks

PARIS: French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius will attend international talks on Iran's disputed nuclear programme in Geneva on Friday, his ministry announced, amid high hopes that the meeting will produce a deal.

Fabius's unexpected attendance will further fuel speculation that a historic agreement may be in sight, following an announcement late Thursday that US Secretary of State John Kerry would also join the negotiations.
