CM Sindh presides meeting regarding local govt elections

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, has said that the Sindh Government is ready to hold local bodies elections as per directives of the Supreme Court.

This he said while presiding over a meeting regarding preparations for local bodies elections, held at CM House here on Thursday.

Provincial ministers, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Sharjeel Enam Memon, Dr. Sikandar Mendhro, Advisor to CM Syed Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Chief Secretary, Ejaz Chaudhry, Secretary Local Government Ali Ahmed Lund, Advocate General Sindh Khalid Javed and other officers attended the meeting.

Addressing the meeting the Chief Minister directed the officers concerned to remain in contact with the Election Commission and update themselves about all information/ preparation and also complete the process within due course of time.

The Chief Minister while realising that the time was short, has cancelled the leave of Saturday and Sunday next and directed the officers and officials concerned to remain on their job and complete the same within time.

The Chief Minister also directed the officers that difficulties, if any, due to short time be resolved with mutual understanding with the Election Commission and ensure that all the prerequisite and other requirements of the election are complete.
