SC forms five benches, a larger bench for next week

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has constituted five benches and a larger bench at the principal seat to hear a number of important cases during the next week, starting from Monday (September 30).

The first bench is comprised of Chief Justice, Justice Jawad S. Khawaja and Justice Gulzar Ahmad, second bench consist of Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Amir Hani Muslim while third bench comprising of Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany and Justice Mushir Alam.

Fourth bench is comprised of Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman and fifth bench consist of Justice Khilji Arif Hussain, Justice Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed.

The larger bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Jawad S. Khawaja, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmany, Justice Amir Muslim Hani, Justice Gulzar ahmed and Justice Mushir Alam.

It is pertinent to mention here that the court would hear a number of important cases including suo moto action regarding illegal construction on Agro Farm Houses in Islamabad, governemnt withdraw millions from Intelligence Bureau account, firing by Sikandar Khan in Blue Area Islamabad case, election matters of different parliamentarians, fake degree case, auction of the 3rd Generation Telecommunication Services & Transparent Licensing of 3G Services in Pakistan and suo-moto notice for arrest of accused involved in cases of torture and murder of advocates.

According to cause lists, no adjournment on any ground will be granted and no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the Court.

If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the dvocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case.
