Saad Rafiq urges sluggish unit heads to improve performance

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that all the production units working under the ministry should be fully functional and productive at the earliest.

During a visit to Pakistan Locomotive Factory (PLF) the minister said that the management of PLF should present a comprehensive business plan by 10th October to the ministry.

The minister said that he would change the top management if the management of the dead production units would not come up with practical proposals.

He added that all the principal officers would submit monthly and quarterly performance reports against the assigned key performance indication (KPIs).

While talking to the workers union of Locomotive factory, the minister said those including officers and the industrial workers who do not want the privatization of this national asset, should work day & night for the revamping of the organization.

He said that no political party including the ruling party would be allowed to interfere in the internal matters of Pakistan Railways.

He said that in first 100 days, no political appointment was made in the ministry and the practice would be ensured in future.

Rafiq said that if highly industrious people of PR work diligently could move the wheels of this dead institution adding for the elimination of PR deficit, practical measures should be taken, he added.
