LONDON: European stock markets closed flat on Thursday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index ending the day virtually unchanged at 6,588.98 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 dipped 0.02 percent to 8,494.00 points and the CAC 40 in Paris slipped 0.330 percent to 4,106.63 points.
