EOBI case: SC asks employees union to submit reply on Sept 12

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed employees union to submit written reply about illegal appointments in Employees Old age Benefit Institution (EOBI) and adjourned the hearing till September 12.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and compressing Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry were hearing the case pertaining to illegal appointments in EOBI.

During the hearing, EOBI lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan submitted a report of 115 pages in the court.

The reported admitted that appointments for grade 16 to 20 were illegally made. However, employees’ union lawyer told the court that no such report in this regard was presented so far.

The deputy attorney general told the court that former prime minister’s son-in-law Raja Azeem’s resignation was accepted.

Employees union general secretary Syed Mubasshir Ali told the court that the report did not pinpoint the persons responsible for the situation.

The court adjourned the hearing till September 12
