Compensation to be paid to flood-hit people: CM

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said all-out resources are being utilized for the relief and rehabilitation of flood-affectees and relief camps have been set up in flood-hit areas and compensation will be paid to all afectees.

He said this while talking to flood-hit people at Talwar Post affected by flood in the river Satluj River in Kasur on Wednesday.

Members National and Provincial Assemblies, officers of divisional and district administration were also present on the occasion.

He said elected representatives and administration were looking after flood affectees round-the-clock and no effort would be spared for their relief and rehabilitation.

The chief minister said the Punjab government was standing with the flood affectees in this hour of trial and would remain with them till their complete rehabilitation. He said that compensation would be paid to the flood affectees.

Earlier, during a briefing given by the district administration, the chief minister was told that vigorous steps had been taken for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affectees. The administration told that 5,000 populations of 17 villages were affected due to flood in the River Setluj.
