Sindh Governor congratulates nation on Independence Day

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan has said that August 14 is not merely a day for celebration but it is a very auspicious occasion and carries much significance for us. In his message for Independence Day, the Governor said that on this day after a long struggle and great sacrifices, we threw off the shackles of slavery under the charismatic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and got our existence acknowledged in the shape of Pakistan.

He said that besides our independence, it is also the day for our resolve and accountability.

The Governor offered his heartiest greetings to the nation, and appealed to them to jointly make a resolve that they will move forward for a developed and stable Pakistan, putting behind all petty differences.

He said that the struggle and sacrifices by the people of every part of the subcontinent for the creation of Pakistan is part of our history.

Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad said certain elements and anti-state forces are bent upon destabilising the country. He said on this day we have to renew our commitment with the same spirit that was demonstrated during Pakistan Movement, for the development and progress of the country.
