KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister has said that the need for unity, harmony, brotherhood and humanity, which is increasingly being felt today, has perhaps not been felt before.

He said that following the guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, we can put the country on the track of development and prosperity.

The Chief Minister said that we should renew our resolve on this day for the development of our country.

He said that we succeeded in getting a distinct state, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, on August 14, 1947 due to the persistant struggle and numerous sacrifices by the Muslims of the sub-continent under the charismatic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Qaim Ali Shah said that the sacrifices and struggle by the people from all parts of the sub-continent for the creation of Pakistan are a part of our history. He said that all the people living in Pakistan should promote the spirit of brotherhood and harmony among them, because certain anti-state forces are bent upon creating instability in the country.
