KPK Govt bans aerial firing, one wheeling on Eid ngiht/14th August

PESHAWAR: The KPK government has cautioned the the police, divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province that all preventive and preemptive measures should be taken to discourage aerial firing and one wheeling by motorcyclists on the eve of sighting of Shawaal Moon (Eid Moon / Chand Raat) and following Eid ul Fitr days as well as Independence Day 14th August 2013 by exercising powers under section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The Provincial Home department said that the menace which is developing in a garb of so-called culture, should also be curbed with iron hand on permanent basis.

Such activities were / are also noticed on certain occasions both in rural and urban areas throughout Pakistan in general and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular vis-à-vis on the occasions of birth of sons, betrothals, marriage ceremonies and winning of international sports matches by Pakistan etc.

The government said the very purpose behind these precautionary measures is to ensure safety to life and property of the people, which is a prime responsibility of the government under the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
