Dr Gul Faraz lauds govt. efforts to resolve energy crisis

ISLAMABAD: Former Secretary Petroleum Dr Gul Faraz has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is determined to resolve energy crisis within three years.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that Prime Minister has approved energy policy through Council of Common Interest and identified real issues in this sector.

He maintained that implementation of the energy policy appears to be top priority of the government.

He said that new energy policy has its focus on generation of power from hydropower projects, coal, wind, and solar to reduce power generation expenditure.

He said that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has launched a solar project yesterday.

He added good governance, provision of justice, and restoration of peace can attract foreign investors especially in energy sector.

He appreciated government's efforts to take steps to resolve circular debt.

He expressed hope that government would not spare electricity pilferers.
