Sessions of NA Senate for presidential election summoned Monday

ISLAMABAD: Acting President Nayyar Hussain Bokhari has summoned the sessions of the National Assembly and Senate Monday for the presidential election.

The acting president has summoned the sessions of the National Assembly and the Senate to meet separately Monday at 04:00pm in the Parliament House, Islamabad.

On Saturday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued a final list of the presidential candidates.

According to the final list‚ the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Mamnoon Hussain and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Justice (Retd) Wajhiuddin are on the run for the coveted slot.

Earlier, the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) announced to boycott the presidential election scheduled to be held on July 30th. The Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and BNP-Awami have also announced boycott of the presidential election in support of the PPP.

The nomination papers of 19 candidates have been rejected.
