KARACHI: City police on early Saturday morning raided the house of Uzair Baloch, head of banned People’s Amn Committee, but failed to arrest him.

The raid was conducted at his house located at Sangu Lane in Lyari Town but the police returned empty handed.

According to SP Lyari Najam Tarin, at least ten suspects were detained during raids in different areas.

On the other hand, the residents of the area staged a protest against the police action saying that innocent people were arrested. The protesters threatened to block the Mauripur Road if the arrested people were not released.

It may be recalled that Sindh High Court (SHC) had ordered for the arrest of Uzair Baloch after which police raided his residence in compliance with the court orders.

Uzair Baloch was declared a proclaimed offender three months ago by an anti-terrorism court in the murder case of Lyari-based gangster Arshad Pappu.
