LONDON: European stock markets closed virtually unchanged on Friday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares down only 0.06 percent to end at 6,630.67 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 retreated 0.07 percent to 8,331.57 points and in Paris the CAC 40 dipped 0.06 percent to 3,925.32 points.
