HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks rose 0.26 percent at the beginning of trade on Thursday after reassuring comments from US Federal Reserve boss Ben Bernanke over the bank's stimulus programme.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 55.03 points to 21,426.90.
