Govt committed in leading Pakistan to success: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is committed in leading the country to the road of progress.

While addressing a public gathering at Narowal on Sunday, the minister said that the people have given their mandate to PML (N) and have high expectations from his party. The PML (N) leadership will leave no stone unturned to meet them, says a press release issued here.

The minister further expressed that corruption will be curbed with serious efforts and no corrupt person will be given free hand. The former government wreaked havoc with the country in the last five years, and we have to start the work from scratch.

The PML (N) government is formulating policies to resolve critical issues of the country including load shedding and unemployment.

Iqbal further added that Punchayat System at every ward and union council will be re-established at district Narowal so that people may be able to settle their conflicts in a peaceful and convenient way.

He said that our forefather have sacrificed their lives for the country. Now it is our responsibility to safeguard this motherland.

The minister said that the teachers are the real architect of the future. They must realize their importance and work with diligence because their negligence causes irreparable loss to the nation.

Talking about Railways, he said that out of 550 rail engines, the former government left only 140 in working condition. The government is committed to make Railways a functioning and profitable institution again and the work has already been started in this regard.

The minister thanked the people for putting confidence in PML (N) to bring change in the country. Later, he visited the under construction Marala-Ravi Link Bridge at Narowal and directed the machinery to speed up the progress.
