Sharjeel Memon refuses possibility of Swat-style operation in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has completely refused possibilities of initiating a Swat-style military operation in Karachi as law and order situated is tensed since 25 years in the economic hub of Pakistan.

Sharjeel Memon has strictly objected the opponent political parties for their criticism over worse law and order situation in Karachi and advised them to present effective suggestion to implement peace in the metropolitan city.

The information minister pointed finger towards Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) that prominent political and social personalities including Hakim Muhammad Saeed were killed in Karachi under the governance of PML-N.

Memon raised question that why PML-N conducted operation in Karachi if law and order situation was good in the city during their last tenures.

He said that situation in Karachi is different from other cities of the country, the killing incident also happening in Punjab but every attack cannot be termed as target killing.

Memon claimed that in Karachi most of the terrorists were detained during Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) tenure as well as the target killers of MQM’s provincial members Manzar Iman and Raza Haider were also arrested by the law enforcement agencies during their tenure.

“During PPP tenure, good people were not present at jail but terrorist”, the information minister said.
