Altaf for provision of special security to foreign tourists

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned Sunday's killing of foreign tourists of Russia, China and Ukraine in Diamir, Nanga Parbat area of Gilgit- Baltistan by the terrorists.

In a statement issued by his party here on Sunday, he said that this incident is highly condemnable both for the loss of lives and for the bad reputation it has earned for Pakistan in the world community.

He urged the local authorities to take necessary measures to apprehend the culprits and make them feel the full weight of justice.

He said that the areas of Gilgit- Baltistan are famous for their natural beauty and are considered tourist spots and still attract limited tourism and he feared that after this shameful act, the tourism would further decline in Pakistan.

He urged the government to provide special security to foreign tourists and also extended sympathies to the authorities in Russia, China and Ukraine on the loss of precious lives.
