Governor Sindh conferred highest scouting medal

KARACHI: Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan has been conferred the highest scouting award in the country- the Silver Camel.

A ceremony to this effect was held at the Governor House here on Tuesday.

The award was conferred by Provincial Commissioner Siddiq Memon on behalf of the Chief Scout of Pakistan and President Asif Ali Zardari in recognition on meritorious services of Dr. Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan.

The Governor said that it was a moment of pride for him that as the Provincial Scout Commissioner and Governor of Sindh he has been conferred the highest scouting award of Silver Camel.

He also called for promoting the scouting movement in the province.

Dr Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan said that the scouting makes the youngsters useful members of the society.

He was of the view that the scouting movement should be spread from the primary schools up to the universities' level.

The scouts, the Governor added, should also be imparted first aid, civil defence and rescue training.

The Governor announced to increase the annual grant of Sindh Boy Scout Association to Rs five millions.
