Pre-monsoon activity to continue in Punjab, Sindh

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meterological Department (PMD) on Thursday said pre-monsoon activity would continue in upper and central Punjab, central and southern Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the next 24 hours.

Rain with thunderstorm and gusty winds is likely to occur in Sukkur, Larkana, Hyderabad, Karachi and Mirpur Khas divisions of Sindh, Malakand Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu and D.I Khan divisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and different areas of upper and central Punjab and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

From Friday evening to Sunday, rain with thunderstorm and gusty winds is expected in many places of upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir and isolated places of southern Punjab and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.

Heavy rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions and few places in Kashmir during this time period.

The intensity of rains will lessen in the southern parts of the country and increase in the upper parts during next 24 hours.

The maximum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were: Islamabad 35 C, Lahore 32 C, Karachi 38 C, Peshawar 40 C, Quetta 37 C, Quetta 37 C, Skardu 30 C, Murree 24 C, Muzzafarabad 36 C, Gilgit 38 C, Faisalabad 36 C, Multan 38 C and Hyderabad 37 C.

The maximum highest temperatures were recorded in Dalbandin 44 C, Jaccobabad 43 C and Bhakkar 42 C.
