LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court Tuesday disqualified Nawani brothers to contest elections from Bhakar.

The bench headed by Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan disqualified Rasheed Akbar Nawani, Hameed Akbar Nawani and Saeed Akbar Nawani to contest elections from NA-74, PP-48 and PP-49 respectively.

The petitioner, Ghazanfar Abbas Chena, through his petition submitted that the election tribunal allowed Rasheed Akbar Nawani and Saeed Akbar Nawani to contest elections against facts. He pleaded the bench to restrain them from contesting elections for having fake degrees.

Whereas Hameed Akbar Nawani had challenged the order of election tribunal which declared him ineligible for being a defaulter.

The bench after hearing arguments of parties set aside the election tribunal order and disqualified Rasheed Akbar Nawani and Saeed Akbar Nawani whereas the bench dismissed petition filed by Hameed Akbar against election tribunal order.
