06 Apr, 2013

PESHAWAR: A three-day anti polio drive would start from April 15 in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) however, in South and North Waziristan agencies the campaign will not be carried out due to security reasons.

According to Expanded Program for Immunization (EPI), FATA, a target of 700,000 children, below five years of age has been set for immunization against the crippling disease.

More than 2000 anti-polio teams have been constituted for the purpose to immunize the tribal kids.

In South and North Waziristan agencies the campaign might not be carried out owing to security reasons that would deprive more than 200,000 from immunization drops.
