Meezan Bank to provide Qarz-e-Hasna for needy students of SZABIST

ISLAMABAD: Meezan Bank will facilitate Qarz-e-Hasna facility to needy students of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science & Technology (SZABIST) so that they can complete their education at 0 percent interest rate.

Ihsan Trust will provide 40 percent of tuition and other fee as Qarz- e-Hasna, while SZABIST will give upto 40 percent scholarship through SZABIST Scholarship Fund. The selected student will contribute the rest.

This was disclosed during the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SZABIST and Ihsan Trust (IT) for strengthening each other's capacity, here today.

This MoU confirms an understanding between SZABIST and IT in providing education to those individuals who have acquired admission in SZABIST on merit but are not in the financial position to afford tuition fee.

President SZABIST Dr. Saqib Rizavi, Vice President Academics SZABIST, Dr. Amanat Ali Jalbani, Vice President, Product Development & Shariah Compliance Meezan Bank Fayyaz ur Rehman Khan and Head of PDSC, Meezan Bank Ahmed Ali Sidiqui and Treasurer, Ihsan Trust were present during the MoU signing ceremony.

This event was attended by faculty, staff and students of SZABIST, in presence of dignitaries from Meezan Bank.
