HEC offices to remain open till midnight upto 5th April for verification of degrees

ISLAMABAD: In pursuance of Supreme Court’s Judgment dated 1st April 2013, the Head Office of Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Regional Centres at Quetta, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar would remain open till mid night un till 5th April 2013.

HEC has requested all Ex-Parliamentarians (MNAs/Senators/MPAs) who have not yet verified their degrees by HEC so far, to do so before April 5, 2013 by providing the original degrees, original SSC/HSSC or equivalence certificates and copy of the National Identity Card. All universities have also been directed to have their controller examination departments open till late hours.

According to a report submitted to the Supreme Court on Monday, 183 degrees of Parliamentarians stood unverified due to non-availability of Matric/Inter certificates.

It said 54 degrees had been declared as fake and cases of 19 Parliamentarians were currently under litigation in various courts for verification of their degrees.
