MQM not to form electoral alliance: Seat-to-seat adjustment with like-minded possible: Farooq Sattar

KARACHI: Deputy Convener Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabita Committee, Dr. Farooq Sattar has said his party would not enter into any electoral alliance, however, there is a possibility of seat-to-seat adjustment with like-minded parties and candidates.

Talking to media here on Wednesday, he said we assure the countrymen that tax-evaders, defaulters and fake-degrees holders will not be awarded party tickets in the general elections.

To a question about a petition moved before the Supreme Court of Pakistan, against delimitation of constituencies in Karachi, he said we will adopt every legal and constitutional path in this regard.

He said his party has challenged it in the court and he believes that justice will be done, he added.

He said that his party had always awarded party tickets in all the elections to the educated candidates from middle-class, particularly youths, who got elected and were sent to the parliament.

He said the poor-middle-class candidates including youths in large number would be elected across the country in general elections.

Dr. Farooq Sattar told another questioner that the filing process of the nomination papers has just been started.

Besides giving chances to those former members of the national and provincial assemblies, whose performances were good, new faces including youths would also be fielded by his party in the next general elections, he added.
