Kaira says Pakistan contributes for international peace

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira Friday said that Pakistan has rendered too many sacrifices for international peace.

Talking to a private television channel, he said that President Asif Ali Zardari is fully committed to go for regional integration and enhance cooperation with Economic Countries Organization (ECO) for economic stability in the region.

He said that idea regarding the project was conceived by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and now President Asif Ali Zardari practically implement the vision of Benazir Bhutto.

The minister stated that Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project is a great development to meet the energy requirements of the country.

Kaira said that the mega project was not against any other country and it would only benefit Pakistan.

He said that the two countries were showing great interest for the mega project as such collaborations were important for the region.

Replying to a question, he said that the regional stability could not be possible without peace in Afghanistan.

He said the PPP leadership had always taken decisions in the larger interest of the country.

Qamar Zaman Kaira said that Pakistan was the worst victim of terrorism and it had rendered a lot of sacrifices in the war against terror.
