World Day of Social Justice on February 20

ISLAMABAD: World observes Day of Social Justice annually across the globe including Pakistan on February 20 to promote

The United Nations' (UN) World Day of Social Justice is annually observed on February 20 to support the efforts of the international community in poverty eradication, promotion of full employment and decent work, gender equity and access to social well-being and justice for all.

 

The UN General Assembly proclaimed February 20 as World Day of Social Justice in 2007, inviting Member States to devote the day to promoting national activities in accordance with the objectives and goals of the World Summit for Social Development.

 

Many associations, counting the UN and the International Labour Office, make declarations on the significance of social justice for populace. Many unions furthermore present plans for better social justice by dealing with poverty, social and economic elimination and joblessness.
