Nigeria to enhance two-way trade to US $ 1 billion with Pakistan

This was stated by High Commissioner of Nigeria to Pakistan, Dauda Danladi Mni here on Tuesday.

 

According to a press release issued by Nigerian High Commission Islamabad, Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, President of Federal Republic of Nigeria attaches great importance to boost economic interaction with the Government of Pakistan, particularly the business community.

 

Consequently, great opportunities are being explored by the Nigerian High Commission in the area of Agricultural machinery like tractors, Pharmaceuticals and export of garments including electro-medical apparatus to Nigeria from Pakistan.

 

The Nigerian High Commissioner to Pakistan, Dauda Danladi Mni said successful meetings held with Pakistani businessmen and industrialists at Lahore and Faisalabad Chambers of Commerce & Industry.

 

Nigerian Ambassador Dauda Danladi Mni disclosed that Nigerian High Commission is actively working to start economic initiatives through Joint Nigeria-Pakistan Commission .

 

Nigerian Ambassador said trade with Nigeria is also quite beneficial for Pakistan as Nigeria can serve as a window of business opportunity to the whole of West Africa.

 

He also stressed that majority of Pakistani Industrialists have shown their interest to participate in the forthcoming Single Trade Fair to be held in Kano State, Nigeria.

 

He particularly appreciated the goodwill gesture shown by Pakistani business community to invest in Nigeria.
