Valentine's Day cards, flowers sale increases

LAHORE: The sale of Valentine's Day cards and bouquets has increased in the provincial metropolis.   According to

According to a survey by this news agency, extensive buying of cards was witnessed at bookstalls on the Mall, Liberty and Defence. Cards of latest designs are on display at shops and are of special interest for both male and female buyers.

 

Audio shops are also offering specially recorded duets, which are in high demand among young customers. Hotels and restaurants have made special arrangements for dinners for young couples in a romantic atmosphere.

 

However, most people are least interested in the day as it is mostly celebrated by the youth of posh areas.

 

An owner of a flower shop at Gulberg said prices of bouquets ranged from Rs. 50 to Rs. 150 and flower baskets between Rs. 100 and 300 during ordinary days.

 

He said they were compelled to increase prices on Valentine's Day because of higher demand of flowers.
