Security tightened in City

PESHAWAR: Security in the provincial metropolis was further beefed up on Friday owing to ongoing operation in Khyber A

According to police, special measures have been adopted to stop entry of miscreants from Khyber Agency into the city in the wake of operation by the security forces against militants in the Agency. Additional police force was deployed at all entry points of the city while old Bara road has been closed for vehicular traffic at Qadeem Bara check post.

 

Security arrangements for Friday prayers have also been upgraded and extra police force were deployed at all big mosques of the city. All main roads leading towards Sadr Bazaar were also closed to avert any untoward incident.
