His comment, in a Reuters Insider television interview for the Davos Today programme, contradicted Finance Minister Anders Borg, who said last week he would like the crown to weaken to help exports.

Reinfeldt said that in his 20 years in politics, people had always complained about having a weak currency that eroded workers' purchasing power.

"Now when we finally have a situation where we have a stronger currency, I won't complain," he said, adding that it put a lot of pressure on export industries, which had to be more competitive "with other means than leaning on a weaker currency and that's a new situation for Sweden".
