20 Jan, 2013

According to an official at PNCA, "The puppet show at PNCA is a regular feature of the council presented by National Puppet Theater (NPT), on every Monday at 4.00 pm , but the long march and sit-in led by Dr Tahirul Qadri put the cultural activities in the capital to a halt, which are the hallmark of Islamabad and portray its beauty.

He said that law enforcement agencies had also blocked the roads from different places, therefore traffic remained off the road to restrict the public movement, so we preferred to shut our routine activity to avoid any unpleasant situation.

The objective to organize this show is to educate people and children as well, beside providing entertainment as the adults gain knowledge and inspiration from the moral and historical stories acted out by puppets, he added.

In addition to this, many common social problems have been the themes of these shows, which aim at creating awareness, better civic sense and patriotism among the audience.

Free puppet show is presented on every Monday at the same time and venue, while children along with parents are invited to see the show.
