KARACHI: President Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI) Sheikh Umer Rehan has said that Karachi is the largest revenue generating city of the country and the province but no development scheme for the city was announced in the provincial budget, adding "we express our concerns over this matter".

However, he applauded the provincial government for special allocations to fight back the locust attacks which was also one of the biggest challenges to the food security of the country.

He urged the government to introduce incentives and special packages to small business and industry.

He said in past few years Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah had taken some good steps for the development of industrial infrastructure in Karachi, which should be continue in current situation too. He also said "in those challenging times the importance of agriculture sector is more important and vital for us and government should bring it to the top priorities."
