THE RUPEE: Fall on both markets

KARACHI: On Tuesday, Pakistan Rupee fell in both open and interbank markets against USD. It also lost value in open market against Euro.

Against Euro, PKR fell by one rupee for both buying and selling closing at 184 and 185.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 5 paisas for buying while losing 10 paisas for selling closing at 44.30 and 44.60 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR exhibited no change for both buying and selling over yesterday's rates closing at 43.25 and 43.50 respectively.

According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the greenback prevailed throughout the trading session which helped its appreciation for buying and selling at Rs 165.00 and Rs 166.20 against the overnight closing rate of Rs 164.50 and Rs 165.50 respectively.

Similarly, the national currency also followed the suit in relation to the pound sterling that was bought and sold at Rs 206.00 and Rs 207.50 against the Monday's closing trend of Rs 203.50 and Rs 205.00 respectively, they added.

The dollar opened at Rs165(buying) and Rs 165.10(selling) against last rate of Rs165.25(buying) and Rs 165.35(selling).

It closed at Rs165(buying) and Rs 165.10(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs. 106,200 (selling) and Rs. 106,000 (selling) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
