Former Australia wrist-spinner Brad Hogg has claimed that Mohammad Abbas would be the leading wicket taker in the upcoming tour of England.

Pakistan are set to play three-Test and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) against England starting on August 5. As many as 28-mamber squad is expected to depart for England prior to the series. They would play intra-squad practice game ahead of the series.

The 49-year-old made this prediction while responding to a tweet about a possible starting XI for the men-in-green against England.

“Mohammad Abbas leading wicket-taker for the tour.” tweeted Hogg.

Since the departure of Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz from Test cricket, Mohammad Abbas is expected to take the leading role in Pakistan’s pace attack alongside pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi and emerging Naseem Shah.

The young duo have already made a mark in longest format of the game while representing Pakistan in home series against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Abbas has been a revelation for Pakistan in Test cricket picking up 75 wickets in just 18 matches with an extraordinary average of 20.8.
