KARACHIThe Karachi police in their ongoing drive against criminals, arrested 85 accused during the past five days.
A police statement on Tuesday said that those arrested included 18 absconders and two proclaimed offenders.
It said that there were seven encounters of the police with alleged criminals and five gangs of alleged criminals were eliminated.
As many as 56 pistols and six mobile phones were recovered from the possession of the accused.
The police have registered cases and started investigations, the statement added.
