Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shahid Afridi will leave for London today to play English cricket’s 2015 T20 Blast competition. He will represent the Northamptonshire side.
According to local media reports, Pakistan’s Twenty20 captain Afridi has signed a short-term contract with the county to play in six league matches. After playing a couple of games, Shahid Afridi will return home to lead the team in the two match T20 International series against Zimbabwe.
Due to his contract with Northampton, Afridi will also miss the Pakistan Super Eight T20 Championship starting in Faisalabad from May 11.
Afridi has previously played various county crickets from Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Kent and Hampshire. He has now announced his retirement from One-day international but will represent Northamptonshire in T20 Blast.
Afridi will soon end his cricketing career in 2016 with the World T20 in India.
