KARACHI: Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar M.Khan has said that board will be run in a democratic way and accountability, transparency, stability and continuity are top items of his agenda.
"No autocratic decision will be taken and PCB will be run as per the constitution and Governing Body will take decisions," he told a news conference here at the National Stadium on Friday.
Member Governing Board former Test left arm spinner Iqbal Qasim from NBP and KCCA President Prof. Ejaz Faruqi were present on the occasion.
"All the decisions will be taken unanimously by the Governing board," said Shaharyar Khan, who become the first PCB boss take the responsibility for the second time.
He dispelled the impression that he would a be dummy chairman and main decisions will be taken by Najam Sethi.
"My actions will be loud and clear and time will tell you about this," former foreign secretary, commented.
Responding to a question that why Shakeel Shaikh is heading a cricket committee in presence of former captain Intikhab Alam and Iqbal Qasim under him."We will look into it and view it if needed," he added.
Shaharyar Khan said he was never interested and have no plan to again in PCB but came into board after Supreme Court ruling due to game of musical chair between Najam Sethi and Zaka Ashraf.
He said his main mission to strengthen domestic structure to improve the overall standard of cricket in the country.
"Our mission is to raise the standard of domestic structure to produce better future cricketers," he said.
Reply to a question regarding demoting Pakistan top team Habib Bank Ltd (HBL) to Silver League despite no relegation system last year.
"We will look into it. But things has been finalized for new season," he added.
He admitted that there was problem in the selection at lower level, however negated the notion of journalists about favoritism and nepotism at the highest level.
