imageHYDERABAD: The DIG police Hyderabad Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi has said that the Hyderabad Range Police are vigorously implementing the National Action Plan (NAP) to defeat the menace of terrorism.

The DIG chaired a meeting attended by SSP of all the 9 districts in Hyderabad police range to review progress of the NAP.

Sharing the audit report of the seminaries completed in 8 districts excluding Hyderabad, the meeting was informed that an overwhelming majority of students and teachers in the seminaries belonged to Sindh.

According to the survey report, 28395 students belonged to Sindh and only 104 were from the other provinces.

Similarly, just 12 faculty members were from other provinces while the rest of 978 were natives of Sindh province.

The DIG directed the SSPs to verify the permanent addresses and credential of the teachers and students from other provinces from the concerned police stations and their family members.

The meeting was also informed that out of 649 seminaries in the nine districts, 141 had been closed because they failed to register with the concerned authorities and provide details of students, teachers and funding.

Taking notice of the report that some 66 of those seminaries were built on the state land illegally occupied, the DIG asked the SSP to give 15 days time to the seminaries to come clear on the issue before taking action.

The meeting also discussed implementation over the recently promulgated ordinances in Sindh including Sindh Security of Vulnerable Establishments Ordinance, Sindh Sound System (Regulation) Ordinance and Sindh Information of Temporary Residents Ordinance.
