ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf says Pakistan wants a peaceful Afghanistan for security and stability of the whole region.
Apprising Federal Cabinet on Wednesday about his recent visits to Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia‚ he said Pakistan has good brotherly ties with both countries. Pakistan hosted three million Afghan refugees after Soviet invasion in end of year 1979 and helped them in every way.
He spoke of his trilateral meeting in Kabul with Afghan President Hamid Karzai and British Prime Minister David Cameron focusing on security and strategic dynamics of region. Afghan government agreed to give multiple visas to Pakistani businessmen.
He said Pakistan, Saudi Arabia have unanimity of views on regional, international issues. Pakistanis working in Saudi Arabia are biggest contributor of foreign remittances. Saudi Arabia announced $100 million grant aid for Pakistan, he added.
