Interior ministry removes Shehbaz Sharif's name from ECL
The Ministry of Interior removed on Thursday Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The interior ministry has removed the name of the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly following the Lahore High Court's orders passed on March 26. In this regard, a notification has also been issued by the ministry. According to sources, Sharif is likely to travel to London to meet his granddaughter, local media reported.
Sharif had filed a petition in the LHC earlier in February, seeking the removal of his name from the no-fly list. His name had been added in the ECL in February in the Ashiana Housing scam case after National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) recommendation.
Shehbaz is facing investigation by NAB in both Ashiana Housing scam as well as Ramzan Sugar Mills case. The opposition leader is currently on bail granted to him by the LHC.
