FBR notifies regulatory duties on various products

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has notified Regulatory Duties (RD) on about 508 products including kitchen items, beverages, fruits, vegetables, fabrics, electronics and automobiles.

According to FBR (Customs) notification, the new regulatory duties have been imposed in exercise of the powers conferred under the subsection (2) of section 19 of the Customs Act 1969.

The new rate of regulatory duty has been fixed at 10% on live poultry, 25 % each on fish frozen, fish fillets and milk and cream.

The regulatory duty on yogurt has been fixed at 20%, whey powder 25 percent, butter 20%, cheese 20% and curd 20%.

The regulatory duty on guavas, mangoes, mangoes teens, frozen mangoes and mango pulp has been fixed at 15% while on figs, pineapples, oranges, kino (fresh), lemon, melon, apricots and peaches, plums, strawberries, raspberries and kiwifruit has been fixed at 20%.

Among the electronic products, the regulatory duty has been fixed 20 percent each on ceiling fan, pedestal fan, table fan and exhaust fan, split units, refrigerators and freezers, microwave ovens, electric oven, coffee or tea makers, toasters.

The board has also has imposed up to 60 percent ad valorem regulatory duty on import of different vehicles.

According to notification the board imposed 50% duty on new sport utility vehicles 1801 cc to 3000 cc (except electricity hybrids). Sixty percent duty has been fixed on old and used sport utility vehicles 1801 cc to 3000 cc (except electricity hybrids), 50 percent on new cars and Jeeps 1801 to 3000 cc (except electric hybrids) 50 percent, 60 percent on old and used cars and jeeps 1801 cc to 3000 cc (except electric hybrids), 50 percent on - New cars and jeeps above 3000 cc (except electric hybrids), 60 percent on old and used cars and jeeps above 3000 cc (except electric hybrids) and 50 percent on new sport utility vehicles above 2000 cc (except electric hybrids)

Similarly, duty of 60 percent has been imposed on old and used sport utility vehicles above 2000 cc (except electric hybrids), 50 percent on new all terrain vehicles (CBU) (except electric hybrids), 60 percent on old and used all terrain vehicles (CBU) (except electric hybrids), 50 percent on new cars and jeeps above 2000 cc (except electric hybrids), 60 percent on old and used cars and jeeps above 2000 cc (except electric hybrids), 50 percent on new cars and used cars and jeeps above 2000 cc (except electric hybrids), and 60 percent on old and used cars and jeeps above 2500 cc (except electric hybrids).
