Living by his reputation of breaking the traditions, Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq yet again inducted young guns into the 16-men Test squad for the upcoming West Indies tour on Wednesday.
The National Selection Committee, headed by Inzamam, announced the squad after consultation with head coach Mickey Arthur and captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
“The Test team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions in West Indies and the recent performances of players during the domestic and international season. The team is a fine blend of experience and youth and believe that team will do well in the tour,†said chief selector Inzamam ul Haq, quoted PCB.
Spin sensation Shadab Khan is marking his debut into the 16-man Test squad, alongside PSL performer Muhammad Asghar. Whereas, top performers in the domestic circuit Muhammad Abbas and Usman Salahuddin were also picked into the squad.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Shahzad and Shan Masood are making a comeback into the game’s purest form.
Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan announced that the Test series against West Indies will be the last for skipper Misbah ul Haq.
Pakistan Team will play three Test matches against West Indies.
